Daimler Truck sales reached 55.9 billion euros in 2023, up 10% on 2022. 526,053 units (+1% on 2022) trucks and buses were sold worldwide in 2023, despite supply difficulties that prevented even higher sales. 3,443 zero-emission vehicles were sold, 277% more than the previous year (914 units)!
Daimler Truck continues to pursue its strategy of transforming the industry towards zero-emission transport and ensuring sustainable profitability. By 2023, the Group has expanded its global product portfolio to include ten different zero-emission models. In Europe, the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 battery-powered long-haul truck made its world debut. The Mercedes-Benz GenH2 fuel cell truck, which covered 1,047 kilometers on a single tank of liquid hydrogen, also illustrates a new stage in the Group's dual strategy of offering trucks powered by both batteries and hydrogen.
For 2024, Daimler Truck expects a return to normal levels in the main truck markets, with sales in 2024 of between 490,000 and 510,000 trucks (2023: 526,053 units). The truck market in the EU30 region is expected to be between 260,000 and 300,000 units (-24% to -12% on 2023).
