Successful first mission for a CombiMAX 6+4

Just delivered, M.J. van Riel's new CombiMAX Faymonville has successfully completed its first operation: the transport of an 88-tonne transformer. The Dutch haulier mobilized this 4+6 low-loader combination for an 850-kilometer haul, with an overall length of 33.5 m and a gross vehicle weight of 155 tonnes.

Setting off from Regensburg, the route crossed the whole of Germany to the north-east of the Dutch province of North Brabant. The last few kilometers were particularly complex, with a traffic circle easily crossed thanks to the agile pendle axles. "It's in situations like these that the low-loader with its low loading height pays off: it saves us a few precious centimetres," says Gerwin Boemaars, Project Manager at M.J van Riel.

The last stage involved reversing from the main road to the transformer station. From his Mercedes Arocs 8×4 tractor (for which this was also the very first mission), Ed, the driver, had a good overview. Thanks to the auxiliary steering of the low-loader combination, he masters the maneuver in the field in a matter of seconds. With its modular design and intuitive operation, the CombiMAX is easy to get to grips with.
Once the package had been unloaded, the CombiMAX set off on its return journey, with other exceptional missions already in the pipeline.
