The eActros 600 starts "XXL" tests

Starting this summer, Mercedes-Benz Trucks will be taking its eActros 600 electric truck on the biggest test campaign in its history, the "eActros 600 European Testing Tour 2024". Two pre-production prototypes will travel through more than 20 European countries, each covering more than 13,000 kilometers with a total towing weight of 40 tons. The aim is to gain experience over a wide range of routes and climatic zones, taking energy consumption into account. The manufacturer also intends to prove that its battery-powered electric tractor can be used for long-distance international transport (with an autonomy of 500 km without intermediate recharging). The aim is also to recharge the batteries exclusively at public recharging stations. "Since sales began at the end of last year, we have already received over 1,000 firm orders and a four-figure number of letters of intent. This is all the more impressive given that the customer demonstration vehicles will only go into service in the second half of the year. The vehicle has already convinced many customers in advance," says Stina Fagerman, Head of Marketing, Sales and Services at Mercedes-Benz Trucks.
