Olympics 2024: traffic and security perimeters

The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will take place on July 26. The 6 km-long route will start at the Pont d'Austerlitz and end at the Pont d'Iéna. Arrangements are planned to ensure the safety of the event, and traffic and access disruptions are expected several days beforehand. Set-up will begin in mid-June on the lower quays and at the end of June on the upper quays. After July 14, the upper and lower quays will be closed to the general public, with access maintained to local residents and to public-access establishments. The Prefecture de Police has set up perimeters around the area affected by the opening ceremony 8 days beforehand. A "SILT" perimeter will be activated continuously from July 18 to 26, to secure the area immediately adjacent to the Seine. Local residents and professionals will need to register on the Préfecture de Police's digital platform (which opened on May 10). Logistics operators will be able to make deliveries and replenish supplies to businesses located within the SILT perimeter.
