The agility of the Unimog in the marble industry

Lambert-Turpin marble works, based in Ille-et-Vilaine (35), has opted for a Unimog to bolster its fleet and enable it to work more easily in small village cemeteries, where space is limited and delicate work is required. "With this truck, we can do a lot more work than before, and more easily," comments Anthony Turpin, who runs the company with his brother Bruno. This Unimog U430, bodied by ECI, its ultra-short wheelbase, four-wheel steering, tipper and crane Effer 21 t/m (17m + 2). Thanks to its compactness and maneuverability, this vehicle, sold by Lemonnier of Isigny-le-Buat, slips easily into the narrowest of streets, to work as close as possible to construction sites. With its 6-cylinder, 220 kW/299 hp OM 936 engine, it can take a long route or tow a trailer. This Unimog has been added to a varied fleet that also includes an older but still reliable Atego with a tipper body.
