Hympulsion, Watea by Michelin and the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region announce the signature of a partnership to accelerate the development of professional hydrogen mobility, through the deployment of utility vehicles. Hympulsion and Watea by Michelin are setting up a hydrogen purchasing framework agreement with the aim of offering hydrogen at a competitive price. The AURA region, one of the pioneers of hydrogen, sets up subsidies for the purchase of commercial vehicles. Watea by Michelin, set up in 2021, offers an all-in-one package comprising battery-powered or hydrogen-powered electric vehicles, station refueling, assistance and maintenance, and a bouquet of digital services. It aims to deploy nearly 450 hydrogen vehicles throughout the region by 2026. "Hydrogen-powered vehicles offer the advantages of electric vehicles without the constraints posed by batteries: range is greater, and recharging time is closer to that of combustion-powered vehicles. In regions like the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the hydrogen ecosystem is sufficiently mature, and demand from our customers sufficiently strong, for this offer to be a resounding success," says Pascal Nouvellon, President and CEO of Watèa by Michelin.
