Egis targets offshore wind power

Groupe Egis, one of the world's leading construction engineering groups, has strengthened its position in renewable energies, with the signing of a partnership with Niras, Scandinavian offshore wind expert. This partnership will enable the French group to expand its consulting and engineering services in the field of renewable energies, in particular for offshore wind power projects in France, its traditional home market. For its part, Niras, which has been active in the global offshore wind market for 35 years, is expanding its service offering to key future customers in the French market.
After a decade of slow progress, the French offshore wind market is taking off with the government's ambition to reach 18 GW by 2035, based on both fixed and floating technologies," says Jean-Emmanuel Seixas, Egis' strategy director for energy, climate and the environment. We aim to put our technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of the French engineering market at the service of private developers, central and local authorities, contractors and energy operators to achieve this goal. To sum up the rationale behind this partnership, I'd say that Niras knows how to build huge, complex offshore wind farms, while Egis knows how to bring major, multidisciplinary projects to fruition in France."
