First real-life tests for the eActros 600

The first customers test their new eActros 600 electric trucks from Mercedes-Benz Trucks in real-life conditions. Contargo and Remondis put these new battery-powered vehicles into daily use.
Contargo, a container logistics company, will deploy its vehicle for several months to transport containers between the port of Wörth-am-Rhein and various loading and unloading points. The vehicle is expected to cover more than 800 kilometers per day. Recycling specialist Remondis will be using the trailer-equipped test truck from Kögel, Cologne, as part of the HoLa project. HoLa aims to build and operate a high-performance recharging infrastructure for long-distance battery-powered trucks. In addition to Daimler Truck, other partners from industry and research institutes are also involved in the project. The Remondis vehicle will be used primarily to transport recycled raw materials.
Other vehicles will shortly be deployed on customer trials by Mercedes-Benz Trucks for other applications.
The eActros 600 is equipped with a battery of over 600 kilowatt-hours (hence the model 600 designation) and a new electric axle developed in-house, enabling a range of 500 kilometers without intermediate charging.
