Saint-Yves Services acquires SLMT

Partners for many years, Saint-Yves Services and SLMT now share a common destiny: the Saint-Yves Group has acquired the Saint-Brieuc-based company. The relationship between the two companies has a long history, since Christophe Saint-Yves, founder of the group and father of Alexandre, the current Managing Director, began his career as a tower crane fitter for SLMT in the 1980s. When Saint-Yves Services launched its tower crane and GTMR rental business in the 1990s, each company focused on its own geographical area: Côtes d'Armor and Finistère for SLMT; Ille et Vilaine (35), Normandy, Pays de la Loire and finally Ile-de-France for Saint-Yves Services.
It was therefore logical to join forces with SLMT to strengthen our presence in Brittany," says Alexandre Saint-Yves, head of the eponymous group, based in Saint-Thurial (35). SLMT focuses on rental and services similar to our own, while striving to be autonomous in every assembly and dismantling operation. It has always invested in transport and handling equipment, in order to offer its customers greater flexibility. This knowledge of the transport, handling and lifting trades is a godsend for the development of our group." SLMT also brings with it a fleet of 50 tower cranes, and its fifteen or so employees will join the group's 70-strong workforce, spread across branches in Rennes, Nantes, Le Mans and Paris. "At the same time, our structure and know-how in heavy crane maintenance ensure that our activities are truly complementary.

Today, the Sain-Yves Srevcices group employs almost 90 people, and has a fleet of 280 tower cranes backed up by SLMT equipment: three tractor-trailers, three trucks with auxiliary cranes, a dozen semi-trailers and two Liebherr mobile cranes of 60 and 130 tonnes. In addition to the rental of cranes and associated accessories, the company is also involved in the assembly/disassembly, breakdown service, heavy maintenance and reconditioning of this lifting equipment.
