First jobsite for GCA levage's GMK6300L-1

As soon as it was delivered, Autaa Ile-de-France's new 300-tonne crane, the GMK6300-L1, was deployed on its first site, assembling 21 prefabricated modules for an extension to the Saint Camille hospital in Bry-sur-Marne, a few kilometers from Paris. The heaviest of these modules weighs 21 tonnes and will be positioned at a span of 32 m. "We're very impressed with our new GMK6300L-1. The crane is compact enough to fit into a limited space, guaranteeing continuous ambulance traffic," said Eric Grimaldi, Managing Director of GCA Levage et transport exceptionnel. What's more, the inclusion of the engine in the superstructure minimizes noise emissions, keeping disruption to a minimum. It ticks all the boxes."

The 300 t GMK6300L-1 all-terrain crane features an 80 m jib and an optional extension of up to 37 m for a maximum peak height of 120 m.

"We only use 41.9 m of boom and 74.5 t of counterweight for this job, which is well within the capabilities of the GMK6300L-1. The crane works extremely well, and the winch and steering are very precise. These features are very important for the ground crew. I can't wait to use the crane's full 80 m jib to see how it performs," says crane operator Eduardo Catarino.
GCA Levage et transport exceptionnel now has 11 branches and 365 employees. It has a fleet of 110 mobile cranes. It is part of the Charles André Group, currently headed by Delphine André. In 2023, GCA had sales of 1.7 billion euros and 10,000 employees in 15 countries.
