Tower cranes: a new Liebherr luffing jib

Liebherr's new 195HC-LC 6/12 tower crane, with a capacity of 12 tonnes on two legs, combines the advantages of Liebherr's luffing jibs with a hydraulic system, making this crane, with its upper rotating part, particularly at home on urban worksites. It can be positioned in the middle of the worksite, adapting to all conditions, thanks in particular to a reduced out-of-service position, a small turning radius and a reversible cab. Other advantages of hydraulic lift booms include the power of their hydraulic system and cylinder, and precise load positioning. The adjustment unit enables fast, precise tilting in less than 90 seconds. Even with a load on the hook, the boom can be adjusted safely and at a controlled speed.

Assembly

The 16 EC 240 mast system can be mounted in the building's elevator shaft and then telescoped inside: the crane can thus be positioned in the middle of the site, lifting up to 2,550 kilos with maximum reach at the end of the jib. Its minimum working radius of three meters enables it to serve all areas from a central point. In addition to the 16EC240 mast, it can also be fitted with the popular 21 HC290 mast system, which enables higher hook heights to be reached. Cramped worksites have also been taken into account, including for rotation: the counter-jib has been designed to have a rotation radius of just 7.9 m, and the ballast blocks are stackable.

Transport

With its 1.15 m boom width, three parts can be placed on a standard truck or in a container. Four trucks or containers are therefore sufficient to transport the crane. During loading, the rotating platform and the central unit can either be pre-assembled on the truck, or separated to be assembled during the various subsequent assembly operations. A more or less powerful mobile crane will therefore be chosen according to the assembly of the groups of elements or the pre-assembled assembly. The hoisting rope and hook block can also be positioned on the ground, eliminating the need to work at height.
With the launch of this new crane, Load-Plus is now available for the first time with a luffing jib. For particularly heavy lifting operations, a load increase of up to 25% can be achieved at the touch of a button.
The 195 HC-LH is also equipped with the new Tower Crane OS operating system.
