First HRS and Seven hydrogen station to open in Occitanie

A few days ago, HRS and Seven announced their partnership for hydrogen mobility. The first order for a hydrogen refueling station has been confirmed: an HRS40 station with a capacity of 1 tonne/day will go into service in December 2024 at Saint-Sulpice-la-Pointe (Tarn), integrated into the multi-energy station developed by SEVEN, inaugurated in April 2022 with 4 CNG lanes. This new facility is part of the European H2 corridor project supported by the European Investment Bank (€40 million) and the European Commission (€14.5 million). Launched in 2021, this H2 corridor is supported locally by the Occitanie region and the Tarn département. It aims to develop from the Iberian Peninsula to northern Europe the production and distribution of hydrogen for mobility, coupled with the deployment of numerous hydrogen-powered heavy-duty vehicles. Within its Occitan perimeter, the region aims to deploy 2 green hydrogen production units, 8 hydrogen distribution stations, 40 H2-powered trucks, 22 refrigerated units, 40 refrigerated trailers and 15 retrofitted H2 coaches.

HRS, manufacturer of hydrogen refueling stations, is partnering Seven to create hydrogen stations in France by 2025. Seven, founded in 2017, is involved in the development, construction and operation of "green multi-energy" BioGNC and Bio H2 stations, particularly for road transport. The two companies are teaming up on hydrogen mobility projects, with 5 1-ton/day HRS40 stations planned between 2024 and 2025.

"Driven by unprecedented ambition, the Corridor H2 program reflects the Occitanie Region's determination to position itself as a pioneer in the energy transition, with hydrogen as its cornerstone," says Jean-Michel Richeton, Chairman of the Seven Group. As part of this dynamic, SEVEN, alongside the Tarn department and Trifyl, is committed to meeting a major challenge: the commissioning, before the end of 2024, of a high-capacity hydrogen station capable of delivering one tonne per day. Such a feat would not have been possible without the decisive support of HRS and the involvement of its dynamic and visionary CEO, Hassen Rachedi. Thanks to his ability to anticipate the needs of the industry and the support of his expert and committed teams, we are approaching this challenge with serenity and confidence."
