Idea on target

Idea on target

With sales of €200 million, the Idea Group recorded growth of almost 15% in 2023, well ahead of its initial target of €180 million. The logistician, who has developed a comprehensive service offering integrating logistics, transport, packaging, production delegation and flow management consulting, operates in a wide range of sectors (bulk, naval, aeronautical, energy, defense, industry, telecoms, construction and healthcare). It is also increasingly involved in logistics for the building and civil engineering sector, for example with Bouygues Bâtiment since 2022 (for which it is managing logistics operations for a site in the Pas-de-Calais coalfield), as well as for larger construction sites in the west of France.

Its 2025 strategic plan announced a level of investment of €100 million over 5 years, sales growth of 50% targeting €225 million, and the recruitment of 800 employees. Halfway to the deadline, we're on track.

"In addition to our rapid growth, we asked ourselves midway through our strategic plan to ensure that our actions were in line with tomorrow's challenges. The need to accelerate simultaneously on two major levers became obvious: designing ever more efficient and virtuous logistics" declared Nicolas Derouault, the group's CEO.

Performance and CSR

The Group is therefore committed to enhanced performance. To this end, it is deploying best practices across its 70 sites, innovating with new technologies, data science and AI, and pursuing its diversification strategy to better anticipate and cope with crises and logistical developments. Its second priority is to strengthen its social and environmental responsibility, aiming, for example, to reduce its carbon footprint by 25% by icic 2025. It is also accelerating the decarbonization of its fleet through the use of alternative fuels. In addition to some 25 trucks already running on biogas, IDEA is also banking on PUR-XTL, suitable for long-distance routes, to equip its diesel tractors from 2024. In this way, the Group's carbon trajectory will reach its target of a 40% reduction by 2026. The group is also pursuing the development of green energy production, with its ecopark at La Barillais (44), which brings together bulk storage activities (cereals and oilseeds), a methanization unit in operation since 2022, and other energy production units still being tested. With this project, the group aims to achieve self-consumption of energy in order to reduce its impact on the local environment.
