A new hydrogen production site in Brittany

After the Occitanie region, Lhyfe has inaugurated one of its new green hydrogen production sites in Brittany. Lhyfe Bretagne will mainly supply the region's mobility and the industrial processes of regional companies. Lorient Agglomération will be the first agglomeration in Brittany to benefit from the hydrogen produced on this site, from the 1st quarter of 2024. Located in Buléon, near the VSB énergies nouvelles wind farm, it will produce up to 2 tonnes of green, renewable hydrogen per day, i.e. up to 575 tonnes per year, (installed electrolysis capacity of 5 MW).
It will supply 2 fuelling stations, one located at the Lorient bus depot, the other on the left bank of the Scorff river, to be used in particular for maritime applications. Set on a 6,800m2 site, Lhyfe Bretagne comprises a series of containerized buildings for various functions (driver reception, control room, electrical conversion, water electrolysis, compression, quality control, etc.), a circulation area for trucks, and loading bays for trucks transporting hydrogen to distribution stations and various customers.
