France's largest green hydrogen production facility inaugurated in the Occitanie region

Lhyfe and AREC Occitanie (Agence régionale de l'Energie et du Climat) have inaugurated Lhyfe's green hydrogen production site in Bessières, a few kilometers from Toulouse. Located on an 8,000 m2 site, Lhyfe Occitanie will produce up to 2 tonnes of green, renewable hydrogen per day (i.e. an electrolysis production capacity of 5 MW), with the possibility of further ramping up production. With 2 tonnes of hydrogen, a truck can travel around 25,000 km without emitting a single gram ofCO2. Hydrogen is produced using water electrolysis and renewable electricity.

For the Region, this inauguration marks the first milestone in its €150 million "green hydrogen" plan, and launches the deployment of its "Corridor H2 Occitanie" project. The aim of "Corridor H2 Occitanie" is to deploy 2 renewable hydrogen production units by the end of 2024, representing 6 tonnes/day of cumulative production at start-up, 8 hydrogen distribution stations (from 600 to 1,200 kg/day), 40 hydrogen-powered trucks, 62 trailers/refrigeration units and 15 retrofitted regional intercity coaches (converted to hydrogen) to be delivered in the 1st half of 2024. Lhyfe will also be able to supply other fuelling stations to be set up in the area.

The Lhyfe Heroes digital platform also offers players in the Occitanie region a first Grouped Offer, facilitating access to a selection of 7 Stellantis and GCK Mobility hydrogen vehicles (coaches, dump trucks, refuse collection vehicles and light commercial vehicles).
