Scania offers new biogas engines

Scania offers new gas engines running on bio-GNL or bio-GNC, based on the powertrains of the 13-liter Super engine, offering a 5% reduction in fuel consumption. Interest in locally-produced biomethane fuels for trucks (such as bio-GNL or bio-GNC) is growing rapidly. WithCO2 emissions cut by up to 90%, they are attracting interest from companies looking to decarbonize road transport. Thanks to the rapid development of filling stations, biomethane-based fuels are easily accessible. "Our biogas engines cover a wide range of industrial sectors and applications. A 40-tonne tractor-trailer combination equipped with our largest bio-GNL tank can enjoy a range of up to 1,800 km", assures Ola Henkiksson, Senior Product Manager for Renewable Fuels at Scania Trucks.
