NGE wins contract to extend Lyon's T6 tramway system

NGE has won the infrastructure and track contracts for the extension of Lyon's T6 tramway to the north of Villeurbanne, worth €85 million. NGE is mobilizing four of its subsidiaries: TSO, railway works; GUINTOLI, earthworks and external works; AGILIS, mineral coatings, heavy beaconing and signalling; TSO CATENAIRES, implementation of the overhead contact line, in a consortium with Razel-Bec, Coiro TP, MDTP and Chazal.
Work began last November, and is scheduled for commissioning in 2026. 5.4 km of track will be laid. The works also include the urban requalification of facade-to-facade improvements and the creation of bicycle and pedestrian facilities. The environmental aspect of the project is also being taken into account: part of the materials will be transported by river and rail, hybrid machines will be used and other measures will be taken to reduce the carbon footprint, such as photovoltaic panels on the living quarters and the use of low-carbon concrete.
