Mammoet expands its global crane fleet with the acquisition of two new Liebherr crawler cranes: the LR11350 and the LR12500-1.0, the second of its kind for the Dutch company.
The LR11350 can lift up to 1,350 tons and reach heights of 220 meters, joining ten other machines of similar capacity in the fleet. The LR12500-1.0, with its 2,500-ton capacity, has a wide, modular main boom, making it easy to transport for international projects.
This expansion comes amid growth in the renewable energy sector, particularly offshore wind power, where turbines are becoming taller and taller and require more powerful cranes.
The cranes will soon be deployed on projects in the United Kingdom (LR12500-1.0) and the Netherlands (LR11350).
Peter van Oostrom, Director of Projects and Assets at Mammoet, emphasizes the importance of investing in machines that are tailored to market needs, while Christoph Kleiner, Managing Director at Liebherr, highlights the close collaboration between the two companies.
