A few days ago, Volvo Trucks France delivered 11 100% electric trucks to Groupe Malherbe, including 9 FH AERO Electric tractors (4×2, 540 kWh, 667 hp) and 2 FL Electric rigids (4×2, 376 kWh, 225 hp). In July 2024, the 1st FH AERO Electric tractor in France had already been delivered to Groupe Malherbe.
" It's a significant evolution (even a revolution) which is currently taking place in the TRM sector: our profession is changing, the image of the heavy goods vehicle is evolving and needs to be modernized. We have chosen to be one of the players and to embark on this mutation with our historic manufacturer Volvo, by taking our partner customers along on this exciting adventure," declared Groupe Malherbe directors Alain and Noël Samson.
The vehicles are used to supply parts for the assembly of electric trucks at the Volvo plant in Blainville-sur-Orne, Normandy, as well as to transport goods for a major player in the food industry between Normandy and Brittany. Operated during the day and recharged at night (AC 43 kW / DC 250 kW or 150 kW), they are part of a logistics scheme with infrastructure installed at 7 sites by Autorecharge.
Founded in 1953, Groupe Malherbe is now one of France's leading general cargo transport companies, with a fleet of 2,300 motor vehicles and 4,650 vehicle registrations. It has long been involved in reducing its carbon emissions, signing the "Objectif CO₂" charter back in 2010.
