Eco1000, the new industrial asset for wind power

Nordmark, a specialist in the manufacture of wind turbine components, has invested in a new Eco1000 self-propelled vehicle from Cometto, to handle in-house transport at its Cuxhaven site in Germany. This new two-axle vehicle quickly proved to be a real asset.

This self-propelled machine is an indispensable universal tool in the transport chain," explains Dennis Schröder, Logistics Manager. Here, we move components weighing up to 80 tonnes simply and efficiently, just like a wheelbarrow, from the warehouse to the machine shop and back, and even 'over the dam' to our end customers."

The Cometto Eco1000 is child's play to handle, thanks to its radicontrol system. "The vehicle is delivered ready-to-play", adds Joachim Kolb, Cometto's Sales Manager, "and its large 700 mm axle compensation even allows (un)loading without the need for a crane. The electronically steered self-propelled vehicle moves under the load, lifts it up and moves it to another location - everything runs like clockwork."

A supplier of rotor hubs, nacelles, frames and bearing housings, Denmark's Nordmark specializes in the machining of large mechanical parts, and has become a major partner of the wind power industry.
