Mercedes continues testing its eActros 600 in Spain

Mercedes tested its eActros 600 electric truck on the roads of Andalusia this summer. For around five weeks, this electric truck was subjected to high temperatures, up to 44°. The summer tests focused on the operation of the air-conditioning system at high temperatures, the performance of the electric powertrain and the thermal management of the battery, as well as measurements taken during charging processes at fast-charging stations. A prototype was also driven the 2,000 kilometers from Granada to the Mercedes-Benz Trucks development and test center in Wörth-am-Rhein. Series production is scheduled for 2024.
"We have been subjecting the eActros 600 to rigorous testing procedures since last year. After winter tests in Finland in freezing temperatures down to minus 25 degrees Celsius and initial tests on public roads, the electric truck had to prove itself in temperatures over 40 degrees Celsius in Spain. The eActros 600 mastered these tough tests with ease. In the next stage, we look forward to carrying out real-life tests with our customers", says Konrad Götz, Deputy Head of Global Testing at Mercedes-Benz Trucks.
