A first in France: the LTM 1400-6.1 joins the Montagrues fleet

In early December, Montagrues took delivery of the first Liebherr LTM 1400-6.1 mobile crane delivered in France. This new 450-tonne 6-axle model, unveiled in June 2024 during the Liebherr customer days in Ehingen, is now in service with the Gennevilliers-based lifting company (Plissonneau Group).

This crane replaces an LTM 1350-6.1 (2013) and strengthens a fleet already comprising around forty Liebherr mobile cranes, including four units weighing 300 tons or more. The objective is clear: to meet the constraints of construction sites in Paris and the surrounding region with mobile, powerful, and rapidly operational equipment.

The LTM 1400-6.1 was chosen for its mobility, thanks to its six axles, which allow it to remain in category 2 convoy, for its 450-ton capacity combined with a 70-meter telescopic boom and Y-shaped guy ropes that increase performance, and for its efficiency on site, with equipment designed for rapid assembly and disassembly to maximize productive time on site.

On the technical side, the crane incorporates driving aids, a Y-shaped guy system that can be mounted independently in a single lift, and VarioBallast, which hydraulically adjusts the ballast radius between 5.6 and 7.7 m depending on the working configuration.
