On January 21, 2026, Volvo Trucks delivered a Volvo FH 4×2 tractor to the Lycée des Catalins in Montélimar, a school specializing in transportation, logistics, energy, and applied sciences.
This vehicle, equipped with a 13L 460 hp engine, will be used by students studying for their Professional Baccalaureate in Road Freight Transport. The handover of the keys will enable students to train on modern equipment that directly meets the requirements of the sector.
Supported by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, this project offers future drivers a learning environment that closely resembles real working conditions. Volvo Trucks was chosen based on the brand's reputation, recommendations from transport companies, the proximity of a local garage, and the vehicle's safety features.
When they first got their hands on it, the Volvo FH's safety systems were closely examined by the teaching staff and students. "This truck, which was fully funded by the Region, reflects a collective commitment to modernizing our teaching equipment and improving the quality of our training," emphasizes Isabelle Haesaert, Deputy Director of Vocational and Technological Training.
For Volvo Trucks, this partnership illustrates its commitment to supporting educational institutions and preparing young people for careers in road transport. "In this way, we are helping to train the drivers of tomorrow with tools that meet current standards," adds Laurent d'Arnal, Sales Director for France.
