HAROPA PORT receives €6.1 million in European funding to electrify its sea and river terminals on the Seine axis. This support comes from the AFIF (Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility) scheme, launched in 2022 by the European Commission to promote low-carbon projects on the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
The project includes the electrification of Port 2000 in Le Havre in phase 1, the installation of terminals for entertainment and leisure facilities (ICAL) in Paris, as well as five freight terminals in Rouen and terminals for river cruises.
With an overall budget of €21.4 million, this funding will accelerate the decarbonization of ports of call and enable a growing number of ships to connect to shore power. This initiative places the Seine axis among the European corridors most committed to the energy transition, and reinforces HAROPA PORT's ambition to become a model of green transport.
