The first hydrogen trucks have covered more than 60,000 kms

Hyliko is working with its customers to provide initial feedback on the hydrogen trucks, which have covered more than 60,000 km in 4 months.

For Stéphane Zaouch, transport coordinator at Point.P, this first vehicle is a first step towards wider deployment: "As a leading distributor of building materials, we are strongly committed to reducing our CO2 emissions, with a target of -50% by 2026. With our energy mix already committed, we were pioneers in retrofitting, putting the first hydrogen retrofitted trucks on the road. One of our drivers uses the H2 crane carrier, and he wouldn't change it for anything in the world, as it works so well. At the end of the observation period, our ambition will be to replicate this use case in our branches, with a deployment of nearly 100 H2 trucks in partnership with Hyliko."

For Yann Colin, Director of Green Mobility at Bert&You and Chairman of the Retrofit H2 Coalition, shippers need to follow suit: "We are the first carriers to use hydrogen trucks in food distribution for industry leaders. This is a major asset in strengthening our decarbonization offer to our shippers. We also used a hydrogen tractor at the biggest sporting event of the year in Paris. As chairman of the retrofit H2 coalition, I believe it is crucial to promote this new energy and influence a movement among shippers. From now on, they can rely on concrete use cases in France to integrate hydrogen into their decarbonization strategy, particularly for their scope 3 emissions."

To support the deployment of these trucks, Hyliko has opened its first hydrogen truck center in Villabé (Essonne), comprising a high-speed green hydrogen refueling station and a dedicated maintenance center.
