Kalmar is to supply Med Europe Terminal at the port of Marseille with six new hybrid straddle carriers, scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2024. The terminal, which already operates a fleet of the manufacturer's diesel-electric straddle carriers, has launched a renewal program aimed at improving its environmental performance. "We are delighted to support Med Europe Terminal in its move towards more eco-efficient operations. Our proven hybrid solution, which can reduce fuel consumption by up to 40% compared with equivalent diesel-powered machines, continues to be an extremely popular choice among leading terminal operators worldwide," points out Hervé Helluin, Service Operations Manager, Kalmar.
