Altens launches low-carbon B100

Altens strengthens its biofuels business with the development of PUR100, a new low-carbon B100. Transports Seine-et-Marnais (TSM) will receive a preview of this new low-carbon biofuel. A long-standing Altens customer, TSM has been using traditional B100 in 35 engines in its fleet for the past 3 years. "There's really no difference between B7 and B100 in use. On the strength of this very positive experience, we want to turn to the low-carbon B100, which is even greener, to carry out our activities, and thus offer an even more virtuous service to our customers", explains Nicolas Dhondt, Managing Director of TSM.

This PUR100 biofuel is derived from the processing of French rapeseed oil, and offers a significant 80% reduction in greenhouse gases (GHG) compared with traditional diesel. This new B100 has a higher GHG reduction performance than "traditional" B100, thanks to more virtuous agricultural practices (which enable "emission savings" thanks to the accumulation of carbon in the soil). To support this change in agricultural practices, Altens is collaborating with MyEasyFarm, a start-up expert in the use of Agricultural Data. Through its MyEaysCarbon platform, for example, this start-up brings together a range of solutions to support farmers, project developers, agricultural advisors and agro-industrialists on the road to regenerative, more sustainable agriculture.
