Hyundai Motor Company is to supply Iveco Group with a fully electric light commercial vehicle, which will be marketed in Europe under the Iveco brand. Based on Hyundai's Global eLCV platform, this new vehicle expands Iveco Group's range, which already includes the IVECO Daily and its electric version, the IVECO eDaily. This vehicle, the first model to use Hyundai's eLCV platform, will be launched in 2024. This innovative platform incorporates Hyundai's next-generation battery electric vehicle technology, with a low-floor design that facilitates loading and transporting goods. Hyundai will supply the chassis cab, and Iveco Group will customize and locally distribute the vehicles, which will be officially launched on the market next September.
Hyundai Motor and Iveco Group launched their partnership in March 2022 and have since produced concrete results related to hydrogen commercial vehicles, including the co-development of the eDaily FCEV (fuel cell electric vehicle) and the launch of the E-WAY FCEV city bus.
