Scania builds new plant in Normandy

Scania France has laid the foundation stone for its future Normandy site at Mongeville (14) on the outskirts of Caen, replacing the existing site at CAgny, just a few kilometers away, and scheduled to open at the end of the first half of 2024. The new building has a total surface area of 2,340 m², including 1,950 m² of workshop space with five and a half bays for mechanical work and two for bodywork.
Flow and storage have been optimized," explains Nadine Fribourg-Blanc, Network and Strategy Manager for Scania France. The new site will have a body shop with cab and chassis straightening benches, and a paint booth. We aim to have this equipment on at least one site per region. The wash bay is covered for employee comfort. Everything is designed to collect rainwater. This meets our environmental concerns.
In addition to the maintenance and repair of diesel vehicles, this site will also be able to handle gas (liquefied and compressed), biodiesel, battery and hybrid vehicles. Scania Normandie, under the management of Frédéric Tantalin, has 5 sites: Caen, Rouen, Le Havre, Alençon and Laval.
