300,000 specially adapted vehicles on Mercedes-Benz Trucks de Molsheim lines

For over 20 years, all custom-built vehicles in the Mercedes-Benz Trucks range have been adapted at the Mercedes-Benz Custom Tailored Trucks (CTT) site in Molsheim, Alsace. The 300,000th special vehicle to be transformed has just rolled off the bodywork lines: it's an Actros 8×4/4 Full SLT, designed for heavy-duty transport.
This vehicle, originally with 3 axles, has been converted to 4 axles, with two drive axles, to be used for heavy load transport in special convoys (SLT). An 8-ton tag axle was added, and a frame was mounted at the rear of the cab, enabling the installation of a 900-liter fuel tank, a compressed air tank and also a powertrain cooling system. The fifth wheel hitch and sliding device ensure efficient axle load distribution. The chassis, including components, was then fitted with side cladding.
For over 20 years, the CTT site has been offering and producing tailor-made solutions for commercial vehicles in the Mercedes-Benz Trucks range.
