TOPAS Advanced Polymers entrusted Mammoet with the planning and execution of lifting and installation operations for the construction of its new COC polymer production plant at the Leuna chemical site in Germany. The company specializing in lifting and transport solutions was responsible for the installation of around 500 plant components, from the main reactor to sensitive equipment such as pumps and modular systems.
The work required close coordination between the various trades and a high degree of flexibility in the face of schedule changes. In particular, the installation of twelve silos, carried out immediately after delivery, required rapid adaptation to avoid temporary storage.
Despite the limited space and weather constraints, the team carried out the work with precision and on schedule. According to Marcel Fahnenstich, site manager at TOPAS, " consolidating lifting, internal transport and installation services at Mammoet simplified project management ".
