Orano NPS has renewed its confidence in Equans for the maintenance of the TN Eagle Factory, its new nuclear packaging manufacturing site due to open in Cherbourg in 2024. The five-year contract was formalized on November 5 at the World Nuclear Exhibition (WNE).
This plant, dedicated to the production of packaging for the transport and storage of nuclear materials, incorporates automated and robotized processes designed to improve industrial performance and operational safety.
Multi-technical and predictive maintenance at the site is carried out by Ineo Nucléaire, an Equans France entity. It covers sixteen critical processes and mobilizes several skills: electricity, automation, control, robotics, mechanics, hydraulics, video and supervision.
Equans has set up a team of specialized technicians, trained to intervene on the entire production line. The company has committed itself to availability and responsiveness targets, with a presence on site in less than thirty minutes in case of need.
According to Orano NPS, this partnership is designed to support the ramp-up of the plant, which plans to eventually produce up to 30 packages a year.
