Towards official certification for tower crane assemblers: take part in the survey!

For several years now, tower crane professionals have been working behind the scenes towards an ambitious goal: to create an official, state-recognized title of "Tower Crane Fitter". Today, this project is about to become a reality.

Championed by the DLR Federation and supported by major players in the sector - Consortio, CPMDG DLR, ECIR Formation, LIEBHERR and MANITOWOC - this title aims to enhance skills, reinforce safety and meet the growing demands of the profession.

Why this certification?
The profession of tower crane erector is evolving rapidly: new technologies, safety standards and environmental constraints. Certification will not only enable us to train new talent, but also give official recognition to the expertise of experienced professionals, thanks to VAE (Validation des Acquis de l'Expérience).

How far along is the project?
The certification application was submitted to France Compétences in September and is currently being examined. The decision of the Commission de la Certification Professionnelle is expected by the end of 2025. Official validation will open registration of the title in the Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles (RNCP) for several years.

Your opinion counts now
Even before this validation, it is crucial to measure training and VAE needs: number of courses, types of training, geographical distribution. This data will enable us to plan sessions efficiently for 2026.

All professionals concerned - rental companies, experienced fitters, apprentices and trainees - are invited to CPMDG DLR survey here. It's a simple way to help shape the future of a key industry profession.
