Paccar Parts has developed ultra-thin solar panels that can be installed on cabs, trailers and bodies to power the cabin. Thanks to these lightweight panels, batteries are continuously recharged using solar energy, helping to reduce fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. Available in two sizes, these panels measure just 3 mm thick and weigh between 700 g and 1.3 kg. Their self-adhesive, flexible design makes installation easy, even on curved surfaces. The energy generated is stored directly in the vehicle's battery via an included inverter.
This limits engine idling when using parked accessories. These solar panels are now available from over 1,100 DAF distributors and service centers.
