Haropa Port has awarded the VINCI Construction (via its subsidiary Terélian) and DEME consortium the construction of the "La Chatière" river access to Port 2000 in Le Havre.
The €183 million project involves the construction of a 1,800-meter-long channel, protected by a dyke, to directly connect Port 2000 to the Seine basin. From 2027, this infrastructure will facilitate the river transport of containers, thus contributing to the decarbonization of the logistics chain.
This complex maritime project includes a pyrotechnic clean-up phase, and will mobilize the expertise of several Vinci Construction subsidiaries, including Océlian for maritime works, and Navarra TS and Cardem Pyro for clean-up.
The "La Chatière" project is part of a multimodal approach to the ecological transition of sea and river transport. It is financed by the Normandy Region, the French government, the European Union and Haropa Port.
