Mammoet completes testing of SK6000 giant crane

Mammoet has successfully completed testing of its SK6000 crane, now recognized as the world's most powerful overland crane. The comprehensive tests were carried out at Mammoet's Westdorpe site in the Netherlands.
In the most demanding tests, the crane achieved a maximum load moment of 520,000 tonne-metres, far surpassing its predecessor, the SK350. These tests confirmed the SK6000's compliance with its specifications, with a load capacity of up to 125% overload on all its configurations, from 127 to 171 metres boom height. Its jib can be configured to lift loads of up to 3,000 tonnes at heights of up to 220 metres.

With its exceptional lifting capacity, the SK6000 is ideally suited to the wind power, nuclear and oil & gas industries. It will enable the construction of new-generation wind farms, speed up the assembly of large components in the nuclear industry, and reduce downtime during maintenance projects in the oil & gas sector. It will be ready for its first mission in 2025.
