MSG has just taken delivery of a new 300-tonne capacity Liebherr LTM1300-6.3 crane. It will be followed in early 2025 by a 700-ton LTM1650-8.1, the 3rd in its fleet. These two investments complete the lift operator's high-capacity cranes, which include an LTM 1750-9.1, an LTM 1450-8.1 and soon three units of the LTM 1650-8.1.
"The 90-metre telescopic boom, which can be transported on the road with a 12-tonne axle load and is a unique feature of the crane in its class, was the decisive factor for us," explained Björn Jatz, Managing Director of MSG, on taking delivery of the 300-tonne at the Ehingen plant. "A major advantage is that various lattice sections from our other high-capacity cranes can also be used on our new LTM 1300-6.3."
Up to 120 m
This 6-axle crane boasts technical features such as VarioBasePlus, VarioBallast, auto-ballast and load diagrams for wind speed, which are very useful when working on wind turbines. Lattice booms offer multiple combinations: a double folding boom from 11.5 to 20 meters, two 7-meter lattice sections to extend the telescopic boom, a 39-meter fixed lattice boom and a hydraulically adjustable 43-meter fixed lattice boom. It can thus reach lifting heights of up to 120 meters.
Based at three sites in Freiburg, Kehl and Strasbourg, MSG is investing in the region's infrastructure projects, such as the extension of Germany's Rhine Valley railroad line, or the increase in maintenance work on wind turbines in the Black Forest.
