Tadano announces a further step forward in its product diversification strategy, with the acquisition of the transport systems division of IHI Transport Machinery Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of Tokyo-based IHI Corporation. With over 50 years' experience, IHI Transport Machinery offers a wide range of products, including tower cranes, large harbor and offshore cranes, wind energy cranes and material handling systems. This acquisition will also create synergies with its German-based crawler crane business.
"Tower and harbor cranes are new additions to our group, offering the opportunity to strengthen our relationships with customers and better meet their lifting needs. In addition, the Ring Cranes offer many synergies with our lattice boom cranes manufactured by Tadano in Germany, and we expect them to complete our range dedicated to offshore wind energy," says Toshiaki Ujiie, President, CEO and Director of Tadano Ltd.
Tadano will assume full management of the new business, including development, design, manufacture, sales, installation, maintenance, repair and operation of the new cranes. These product lines cover the industrial, construction, port and offshore, wind energy and material handling sectors.
