Between June 12 and August 19, the French government launched a scheme to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in their transition to electrified road transport. This scheme supported the acquisition or leasing of 248 heavy goods vehicles, for a total amount of €19 million, representing 16,500 tCO2/year of avoided tailpipe emissions. The projects submitted concerned the acquisition or leasing of new vehicles, including 85 straight trucks and 163 tractor units, for use in a wide range of road transport sectors: freight, distribution, agri-food, industry, aggregates, etc.
Another call for projects is now open to all companies and local authorities, for the acquisition, retrofitting or leasing of electric trucks, buses, coaches and urban shuttles. Published on July 5, the scheme is now operational, and the application submission platform is open until October 7. The budget is 95.2 million euros for HGVs (and 15 million for electric buses and coaches).
