After three years of commitment to the Fret 21 scheme to reduce its CO2 emissions, VM Matériaux (Samse Group) has made a largely positive assessment, exceeding its targets. The 5% greenhouse gas reduction target has been raised to 21%.
Four levers have enabled this reduction: optimization of travel distances, vehicle loading rates, the use of new energies and an increase in the number of partners involved in the label. A large part of the fleet was decarbonized in 2023, with the arrival of 31 Bio-GNC vehicles, representing over 20% of the fleet. XTL/HVO100, an 83% decarbonized synthetic diesel, replaced fossil diesel at the L'Herbergement site. Optimization of the distances covered has resulted in a gain of 3,600 rounds.
VM Matériaux, present throughout the west of France with 79 sales outlets, distributes building, renovation and decoration materials. The group recommits to the Fret 21 scheme for a further three years.
