The Vinci Group, as part of a consortium comprising Dragados Offshore (a subsidiary of Cobra IS) and Siemens Energy, has won a contract to design, build and install two power conversion stations in the North Sea. The project, worth 2.9 billion euros, comprises an offshore and an onshore wind energy conversion platform in Germany, with a total capacity of 2GW. The offshore platform will be built in the Dragados Offshore yard in Andalusia. Cobra IS thus confirms its expertise in this fast-growing sector, with nine offshore power conversion platforms now in the pipeline. Cumulative capacity is around 16 GW.
