With its "Restart" offer, Renault Trucks has put 1,000 factory-refurbished trucks on the road. This initiative, unique in Europe, makes the French manufacturer a pioneer in the circular economy. This "Restart" offer is based on the reconditioning of 4 to 5 year-old road tractors, from 2019 or 2020, with mileage between 400 and 500,000 km. They are refurbished in the Group's workshops in St-Priest. The trucks undergo a complete inspection, with over 220 checkpoints, and are replaced if necessary. Parts showing more than 40% wear are also replaced by remanufactured parts. The driver's cab (seat cushions, etc.) is replaced, and the engine and gearbox software is updated, bringing real comfort to users.
Since 2023, the "Restart" service has been offered to all customers of the Renault Trucks network and its more than 310 points in France. With 1,000 reconditioned trucks, 5,100 tonnes of CO2, 128,100 m3 of water and 4,710 tonnes of materials have been saved.
