Milence inaugurates France's first charging station for electric trucks

Milence's first public charging station for electric trucks has just been inaugurated near Rouen. Milence, a joint venture founded by Volvo Group, Daimler Truck and Traton Group, thus marks a milestone in its strategy to develop its activities in the French market. "With the opening of Heudebouville, Milence inaugurates its second charging station in Europe and extends its activities to the French market," says Anja van Niersen, CEO of Milence. This center is an example of our roadmap. Over the past two years, we've prepared thoroughly, developed the right technology, and secured sites in 15 countries. We are now in the deployment phase, and this is just the beginning. In the months to come, we will continue our development with several key sites located along the main logistics axes".

This first center is strategically located in the logistics zone of the Seine-Eure conurbation. This is a major transport route between Paris and Normandy, including Le Havre (France's largest logistics port), Caen, Dieppe and Rouen. Secured and easily accessible to trucks, it provides a safe and convenient place for drivers to take a break. In terms of equipment, the site includes four high-performance CCS (Combined Charging System) chargers on four charging bays.
A second phase, scheduled for completion by the end of the year, will include additional charging stations featuring MCS (Megawatt Charging System) technology.
