Altens expands its photovoltaic offering

Well-known in the decarbonization sector, Altens is strengthening its offering with a new sustainable energy production solution: photovoltaic shading systems. This new turnkey solution, designed for logistics, transport and industrial customers, aims to install these shadings on parking lots, thus guaranteeing a supply of "green" electricity, produced on site. Altens' engineering department is involved at every stage of the solarization project, providing a customized design. This new offer can be coupled with intelligent recharging stations (PUR-ELEC range) to store the electricity produced during periods of surplus. This environmentally-friendly approach helps to reduce companies' SCOPE 2 emissions, as solar energy has a smaller carbon footprint than electricity distributed by the grid.
Shade systems also have a very positive impact on SCOPE 1 if photovoltaic production replaces on-site carbon-based electricity production, such as the use of generators. "This self-generation strategy not only enables players to make substantial savings on their energy costs and provides 20-year visibility on the price of electricity, but also responds to their desire to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions through a positive solution for the climate", sums up Etienne Valtel, Altens Managing Director.
