Still recycles its lithium-ion batteries

Manufacturer Still now recycles the lithium-ion batteries in its forklift trucks. Once they have reached the end of their life, they are sent to the European plant of its partner Li-Cycle, with a material recovery rate of up to 95%. The main components are then recovered and reused to produce new battery cells. "The integration of a used battery take-back and recycling solution into Still's offering simplifies the task for customers, while guaranteeing the sustainability of their energy choice," explains Stéphane Carême, Energy Manager at STILL France. Still offers its customers safe transport of end-of-life batteries, using certified transport containers to the recycling site.
"By using batteries produced in Europe within our group, by monitoring them in after-sales service throughout their life cycle, and then by recycling them in Europe too, with a recovery rate of up to 95%, we are already complying with the requirements of the "Green Deal" that the EU is in the process of putting in place, while offering our customers an intralogistics approach that is both 100% environmentally friendly and highly profitable economically," adds Stéphane Carême. The group already has a solution for recycling its current lithium-ion modules, which will reach the end of their life by 2030.
