Bouygues: a growing order book in the construction sector

Bouygues Group sales jumped 26% in 2023, to €56bn, boosted by the contribution of Equans (one of France's leading energy and services companies, with €18.8bn). Construction sales reached €27.3 billion at the end of 2023, up 2% year-on-year, driven by Bouygues Construction and Colas. At the end of December, the order book for construction activities was up 4% to €28.4 billion, including €15 billion for Bouygues Construction (excluding Bouygues Energies&Services, integrated into Equans), up 6% year-on-year. Buoyed by the Public Works and International Building backlogs, it offers good visibility on future business.

Equans has booked €17.4 billion in orders for 2023, for data centers, installation of photovoltaic parks and gigafactories (batteries for electric vehicles) in Europe.

For 2024, in an uncertain economic and geopolitical environment, and after a year of strong growth, the Group is targeting slightly higher sales and operating income than in 2023.
