The Gaussin Group has appointed, via its Board of Directors, Steve Filipov as Chief Operating Officer. Steve Filipov brings to the Gaussin Group, a pioneer in clean, intelligent mobility, 30 years' experience at the head of international groups, having been Managing Director of Terex Corporation, Chairman of Terex Carnes and CEO of Manitex International (2019-2023). He is currently an independent member of the Board of Directors of two US companies, Cranes 1 and Atlas Cranes Services.
Working alongside CEO Christophe Gaussin, he will be responsible for accelerating the production of the order book, controlling the company's expenses and rapidly putting in place the financing required for the Group's activities. "I am proud to be taking over the management of Gaussin from Christophe Gaussin. Backed by a unique history and a culture of innovation, the Group benefits from a recognized technology and immense assets, but is facing cyclical challenges. These are common stages in the life of a mature company, and they take place over time. I'm determined to rise to this challenge", says Steve Filipov, GAUSSIN's new Chief Operating Officer.
With an order book of €148 million at December 31, 2023, Gaussin's prospects are excellent. Nevertheless, the Group needs to increase the rate of series production in order to return to profitability. To achieve this, a transformation plan must be deployed, aimed in particular at developing and implementing a growth and transformation strategy, executing the order book on schedule, rationalizing costs and overheads, and improving supply chain management and production performance.
The "Gaussin Horizon 2026" roadmap, which will be operational in the second half of 2024, should enable us to take advantage of emerging opportunities, particularly in the port market.
"I'm convinced that Steve Filipov's industrial experience and leadership are unique assets in meeting the Group's challenges. I have every confidence in his ability to guide us through this complex yet promising period. With him, and no doubt soon with new strategic partners, we are ready to write a new page in our family-owned company", says Christophe Gaussin, CEO of Gaussin.
