Nuclear: Egis and Blue Capsule win France 2030 awards

Egis is partnering Blue Capsule Technology in the development of the Blue Capsule high-temperature reactor (HTR). They are winners of the "Innovative Nuclear Reactors" call for projects under the France 2030 investment plan. Blue Capsule is a solution designed to decarbonize chemical sites heavily dependent on fossil hydrocarbons. Egis is involved in the design and civil engineering studies, site selection, BIM and digital engineering, as well as the analysis of external and seismic risks.

"Blue Capsule is a nuclear facility that will be installed close to these installations, so external risk analysis is one of the most important issues. Egis has developed skills, expertise and knowledge in the field of civil engineering and external risk analysis in nuclear engineering, and we look forward to our cooperation on the design of Blue Capsule", says Edouard Hourcade, Director of Blue Capsule SAS.

The first SMR is scheduled to go into service in 2036.
