TII Scheuerle vehicles on their way to Korea

Five special ShipyardTransporters from TII Scheuerle have been purchased by the Hyundai Heavy Industries group, to transport large ship parts. Two sets of 18 Scheurle lines were needed to transport the first two units from the Pfedelbach plant to the inland port of Heilbronn, using only country roads. At certain points along the route, the situation was extremely tight, with only a few centimetres of clearance between the two colossal transports, which were 25 metres long, over 8 m wide and 151 tonnes long, and the walls of numerous houses.

Precise transport, managed by the Spedition Kübler teams, who mobilized 18 Scheuerle InterCombi axle lines and a 4-axle tractor for each transporter. These versatile, flexible vehicles are suitable for a wide range of transport operations. Thanks to the low platform height and wide support base, large parts such as these transporters, or those with a high center of gravity, such as construction machinery, extremely heavy mining equipment, wind power plant components, transformers or bridge elements, can be reliably transported.

After a 7.5-hour journey, the vehicles arrived at their destination in the port of Heilbronn. From there, they were barge-loaded to the port of Antwerp for their final destination, South Korea. With a load capacity of 800 tonnes, they will be moving the gigantic components operating in the world's largest shipyard.
