Transport federations oppose any de-reimbursement of the TICPE

The transport trade organizations FNTR, OTRE and TLF are reacting to the remarks made by Bruno Le Maire, Minister of the Economy, who has not clarified his position regarding his intention, announced last June, to proceed with the progressive de-reimbursement of the TICPE from 2024. With one month to go before the presentation of the Finance Bill for 2024, the trade organizations reiterate that the partial reimbursement of the TICPE is "in no way a Franco-French 'tax niche', but rather an essential measure aimed at limiting tax differentials between European member states for our activities." Any change to the TICPE that did not take place within a harmonized European tax framework would be "an unacceptable blow to the competitiveness of French hauliers vis-à-vis our foreign competitors", stress the trade organizations.

They therefore oppose any de-reimbursement of the TICPE and call on the public authorities to guarantee the competitiveness of this sector, "essential to meeting the challenges of full employment and reindustrialization".
